The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned the hearing of cricketer Babar Azam’s appeal against an Additional Sessions Judge’s order until December 12. The order concerned a harassment case filed against Azam by a woman, Humiza.
Azam’s lawyer requested the adjournment. The original petition, filed in 2021, accused Azam of harassment and blackmail. The Sessions Judge had directed the registration of a case based on the woman’s allegations.
Azam’s legal team maintains that the Additional Sessions Judge’s decision was based on inaccurate information and has asked the LHC to set it aside.
It’s noteworthy that a previous session court hearing on the petition by Hamiza resulted in an order restraining Azam and his family from harassing her.
