Smog posing threat to plant health as well

Smog is increasingly impacting plant health, following its detrimental effects on humans.

The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has launched a significant cleaning initiative along Canal Road in Faisalabad to combat the negative consequences of smog on local vegetation.

With the air thickened by haze, the pores of trees and plants have become blocked, hindering their essential functions of releasing oxygen and absorbing carbon.

To address this issue, the PHA has commenced pruning and trimming efforts aimed at enhancing the growth and vitality of the plants.

Local residents have expressed support for the initiative, recognizing that, like humans, plants are living entities that require care. “It’s encouraging to see efforts made for plant health, which is vital for our environment,” commented a community member.

As the fight against pollution continues, the health of both humans and plants remains a pressing concern in the region.
