Actress Areej Chaudhary, who mesmerised audiences with her role in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, has claimed that some people cursed her because of her negative roles in dramas.
“I have a positive personality, and in real life, I oppose many things that are portrayed in negative roles,” she said while appearing on a morning show of a private TV channel. “Therefore, understanding and working on a negative character is extremely challenging.”
Areej was seen sharing screen space with Emmad Irfani in one of the famous dramas of the country. Her negative role showed her having extramarital affairs.
The Miss Pakistan’s secret was revealed in the climax when Rubab, played by Naeema Butt, exposed the reality at the birthday celebration of her husband Adeel, played by Irfani.
While discussing various topics, Areej addressed her experiences portraying negative characters in dramas.
“In a drama, there is a husband and wife and I am playing a role that separates them. I often found myself thinking about what I was doing, which was a significant challenge and a completely different experience for me,” she said.

When asked, she noted that until people meet her in person, they often criticise her on social media, attributing negative traits to her character.
“They curse me and give me bad wishes because of my negative role. But after meeting me, their perspective changes; they tell me I don’t seem bad at all,” Areej said.
She has garnered acclaim for her performances in several hit dramas, including Woh Pagal Si, Turk Wafa, and Gentleman.
