PMD forecasts rain across Pakistan, but Karachi to get something unusual

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light rain in various parts of the country and snowfall in the upper mountainous regions. While most areas will experience dry weather today, with cool nights, some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may see rain.

On Monday, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, and Galiyat are expected to have cloudy skies with rain and light snowfall in the mountains. Pothohar region and northeastern Punjab may experience partly cloudy skies with a possibility of rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms in some areas.

Skardu and Gupis have already recorded temperatures near freezing. Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Shangla are expected to experience rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in higher altitudes.

Much of Punjab remains under a smog alert, with dense fog expected overnight. Balochistan and Sindh are expected to have dry weather, with cool temperatures in mountainous areas. Over the past 24 hours, most of the country experienced dry weather, except for Punjab, which remained largely affected by smog.

The PMD forecasts fog in Karachi on Monday and Tuesday, potentially affecting visibility. Sea breezes and winds from Balochistan are anticipated.

Minimum temperatures in Karachi are expected to be around 21°C for the next three days, with maximum temperatures between 33°C and 35°C. Other districts in the province may experience warm and dry weather due to lingering fog.
