A video showing a violent altercation between two families at a restaurant in Karachi’s Defence area has gone viral on social media.
The incident reportedly stemmed from a minor dispute when one family attempted to take a chair from a nearby table, leading to a verbal exchange that escalated into a physical fight involving both men and women.
The confrontation occurred inside a private restaurant on Khayaban-e-Sehar. Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the brawl and took both families to the station for questioning.
Among those involved was Iqbal Memon, a senior official with the Sindh Home Department.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the dispute. Following initial questioning, one of the families was reportedly allowed to leave the station.A formal complaint being registered at the Darakhshan police station.
A case regarding the incident was filed by Shahid Lashari Baloch, who reported that he was dining with his family when the incident took place.
According to the complaint, Lashari stated, “I work in a bank and came to the restaurant for a meal with my family.” He explained that the conflict began when his sister-in-law pulled a chair from an adjacent table, prompting a woman from the other family to push her.

Lashari further alleged that the woman verbally abused his sister-in-law and initiated a physical confrontation.
The situation escalated when members of the opposing family reportedly called additional individuals from outside to join in the attack. The police are currently taking legal action in response to the incident.
