A 20-year-old woman inmate in the sub-jail of Battagram has reportedly been sexually assaulted, leading to suspension of the Superintendent of Jail.
In light of the situation, an inquiry has been initiated against Shahrayar. A government hospital has confirmed the assault, further complicating the case.
Battagram’s District Police Officer stated that Shahrayar has obtained pre-arrest bail from a local court. Despite this, a departmental inquiry is currently underway following his suspension.
According to a notification from the Ministry of Interior, Superintendent of Jail Shahrayar has been accused by the inmate, Sadaf, of rape. In response to these allegations, a case has been filed against him.
