Funeral for Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah scheduled for Friday

Hassan Nasrallah, the prominent leader of Hezbollah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the group’s headquarters in Beirut. His death marks a significant escalation in ongoing regional tensions and raises concerns over a potential wider conflict.

Reports indicate that Nasrallah’s funeral will take place on Friday, amidst rising protests in Iran where demonstrators expressed outrage, chanting anti-U.S. and anti-Israel slogans while holding images of the deceased leader.

In response to the situation, Iran has called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council.

The Israeli military responded to Nasrallah’s death with increased military activity, which included targeted raids in southern Lebanon.

Following his assassination, over 100 rockets were reportedly fired from Lebanon into northern Israel, although no injuries were reported on either side.
