How can university students register for Honahar Scholarship Program

The registration process for the Honahar Scholarship Program has officially commenced for university students across Punjab. This initiative aims to provide scholarships to 30,000 deserving students annually across 68 disciplines, facilitating access to higher education for talented individuals.

The program will benefit students from 50 public sector universities, 16 medical colleges, and 131 graduate colleges, as well as top private universities.

Over the next four years, the total value of the scholarships is expected to reach Rs130 billion, aiding around 120,000 students.

At the scholarship launch, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that this program fulfills her promise to remove financial obstacles for deserving students, allowing them to pursue their educational aspirations.

Guidelines for the Punjab Honahar Merit Scholarship program application

1. Eligibility Criteria:

• Academic Performance: Applicants must have at least 80% marks in their most recent examination.

• Family Income: The annual income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.

• Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab and provide proof of residence.

2. Online Application Process:

• Registration: Go to the official scholarship portal and register using a valid email address and phone number.

• Application Form: Fill out the online form with personal, academic, and financial information.

• Document Upload: Scan and upload necessary documents, including academic transcripts, proof of income, and identification.

• Submission: Review the application before submitting; a reference number will be generated for tracking.

3. Document Verification:

• The scholarship committee will verify the submitted applications and documents.

4. Interview (if necessary):

• Candidates who are shortlisted may be invited for an interview.

5. Final Selection:

• The list of selected candidates will be published on the scholarship portal, and notifications will be sent via email and SMS.

6. Fund Disbursement:

• Scholarship funds will be transferred directly to the students’ bank accounts; applicants must provide their bank details during the application process.
