At least six people, including women and children, were killed in a car accident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank on Sunday, rescue officials said.
The accident occurred near the Khargai checkpoint on the Waziristan highway allegedly due to speeding. All six occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene while one child suffered serious injuries.
Rescue officials reported that the deceased hailed from the Toodah Chainah area of South Waziristan.
Earlier this month, a driver ran over traffic personnel after being issued a ticket in Peshawar. CCTV footage of the event has surfaced, highlighting the severity of the situation.
The driver struck several traffic police officers following the ticket issuance. One officer sustained injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital, while the driver and his accomplices fled the scene.
