A potential lockdown plan has been devised for the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for September 8 in Sangjani.
Two days prior to the rally, containers were deployed on the Mury Road near the confluence of the twin cities at Faizabad. These containers remain in place at Faizabad, suggesting a possible lockdown strategy.
It’s worth noting that the Islamabad administration has already granted permission for the PTI rally on September 8th.
The rally had initially been planned for August 26 but was called off at the last moment over ‘security concerns’.
