Another case of monkey pox has been confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing the total number of cases in the province to four.
According to Dr Arshad Ali, Director of Public Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the latest case involves a 47-year-old patient who recently returned from abroad.
He explained that the patient exhibited symptoms during screening at the airport. He was subsequently transferred to the Police Services Hospital and has now been confirmed to have monkey pox by the Public Health Reference Laboratory.
Dr Ali reassured the public that the patient’s condition is stable and he is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. The patient is from Peshawar, and there have been no reported local cases so far.
This latest case brings the total number of monkey pox cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to four this year.
