The Sindh government has announced the closure of all private and public schools in Karachi today due to the risk of a cyclone along Sindh’s coastal strip.
According to a notification from Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi, the decision to close schools was made based on advisories from the Meteorological Department and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority.
Private and public schools will also remain closed in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Jamshoro, and Tando Muhammad Khan.
Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that all educational institutions in the Karachi division will be closed today following the advisory issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, urging residents to take necessary precautions during the heavy rains.
