A local court in Lahore has discharged of the alleged perpetrator of the fake news that allegedly led to riots in Britain, Farhan Asif.
However, during today’s hearing, the court has now discharged Farhan Asif from the case. The investigating officer stated that the news was already being circulated earlier, and Asif had only shared that existing news further.
The investigating officer stated that they have thoroughly investigated this case, and there is no evidence against the accused. Upon this, the court inquired about when and with whom the accused, Farhan Asif, had shared the news.
Asif responded that he had deleted the post after 6 hours. Subsequently, the court accepted the request to discharge Farhan Asif from the case.
In the previous hearing, the local court in Lahore had extended the physical remand of Asif, the accused of disseminating the fake news that allegedly caused the riots in Britain.

Following this, Pakistani law enforcement agencies arrested Farhan Asif from Lahore’s Defence area.
