Five Afghan nationals were found dead, their bodies riddled with bullets and hanging from an electric pole in Dalbandin town, Chagai district in Balochistan last week and have been returned to their families, Kabul’s embassy in Islamabad.
The Afghan embassy in Islamabad stated that the bodies were returned to their families at the Spin Boldak-Chaman border crossing on Wednesday.
The Afghan consulate in Balochistan made “serious efforts” to repatriate the bodies to the victims’ relatives in Afghanistan. The embassy described the five Afghans as having been “brutally killed by unknown people.”
The levies and other law enforcement personnel had transferred the bodies to the civil hospital in Dalbandeen.
Levies sources had stated that the five individuals were tied with ropes to the electricity poles in an area adjacent to the Government Boys Degree College. All of them were shot and killed.
Balochistan is home to various militant groups, who often target security forces with bombings and are also behind sectarian violence in the province.
