Pakistani actress Sajal Ali has been confirmed to star opposite Indian superstar Prabhas in an upcoming Bollywood film.
The project, titled “Fauji”, will be directed by acclaimed Indian filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi. The film is described as a period action drama set in a historical fiction backdrop.
“Fauji” is expected to be a large-budget production, with the narrative focusing on a unique love story against the backdrop of war, prior to India’s independence. There are rumors that Prabhas may portray a British soldier in the film.
The development comes after initial speculation around Sajal’s involvement in the project. Indian media outlets have now officially confirmed her casting as the female lead, replacing earlier reports of Mrunal Thakur being considered for the role.
Director Hanu Raghavapudi has stated that the film will offer a one-of-a-kind love story set amidst the historical events. Pre-production is underway, with renowned music composer Vishal Chandrasekhar already recording three songs for the soundtrack.
