The investigation into the facilitation of PTI chairman Imran Khan’s stay in Adiala Jail is expanding, with new revelations emerging about retired General Faiz Hameed, who is currently in military custody.
Senior journalist and analyst Ansar Abbasi claims that former DG ISI, Lieutenant General (Retd) Faiz Hameed, and former Chief Justice of Pakistan were in contact with each other. However, the nature of their communication remains unclear.
Citing informed sources, Abbasi stated that authorities have confirmed the existence of communication between the two. However, the nature of these contacts remains ambiguous, whether they were purely social or had political or criminal implications.
According to the senior journalist, authorities have also gathered evidence against former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar but have no intention of arresting him upon his return to the country.
It is worth noting that Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar, during a press conference yesterday, alleged that Imran Khan and Chairman Barrister Gohar Malik were the masterminds behind a conspiracy against the PTI, and those recently arrested, including Lieutenant General (Retd) Faiz Hameed, were their accomplices.
Tarar stated that the investigation will widen in light of the revelations following General Fayyaz’s arrest, implicating both Saqib and Nisar.
Recently, social media has been abuzz with speculation that former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has fled to London and could be arrested in connection with a wider inquiry related to General Fayyaz’s arrest.
However, the former Chief Justice has dismissed such speculation. In a conversation with Geo News, Saqib Nisar refuted claims circulating on social media linking his absence from the country to General Faiz’s arrest.
He confirmed that he is in London on pre-scheduled leave.
