Three terrorists killed in KP’s North Waziristan operation: ISPR

At least three terrorists were killed and one got injured during an exchange of fire with security forces in the general area of Razmak, North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, the military’s media wing said.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that the intelligence based operation was conducted on the reported presence of Khawarij.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site. According to the ISPR, the terrorists remained involved in terrorist activities against security forces as well as target killing of civilians.

“Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other Khawarji found in the area as security forces are determined to wipe-out the menace of Khawarij and terrorism from the country,” it said.

Last month, the government declared the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan as “Fitna al-Khawarij”. The decision is aimed at highlighting the “true nature and ideology” of the terrorist group. The notification stated that the TTP has distorted the image of Islam under the guise of religion.

The notification emphasizes that the TTP has irrevocably damaged Islam and that these terrorists have no genuine interest in the religion. According to Islamic teachings, such corrupt elements are referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”
