In a major move against terrorism, the Pakistani government has declared the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as “Fitna al-Khawarij”, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior.
The decision aims to highlight the true nature and ideology of the terrorist group.
The notification states that the TTP has distorted the image of Islam under the guise of religion. It further clarifies that the term “Khariji” will be used alongside the names of these terrorists to expose their true identity.
The notification emphasizes that the TTP has irrevocably damaged Islam and that these terrorists have no genuine interest in the religion. According to Islamic teachings, such corrupt elements are referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”

The Ministry of Interior’s notification instructs all government institutions to implement these directives immediately. The notification will also be sent to all federal ministries, divisions, and departments under administrative control.
This move marks a significant shift in the Pakistani government’s approach to tackling terrorism. By labeling the TTP as “Fitna al-Khawarij,” the government aims to delegitimize the group and discourage any potential support for their ideology.
