The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast thunderstorms and rain accompanied by strong winds in various parts of the country today.
According to the PMD, most areas of the country are expected to experience hot and humid weather. However, there is a chance of thunderstorms and rain in some areas of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Islamabad, northeastern Punjab, southeastern/lower Sindh, northeastern and southern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Islamabad and its surrounding areas are expected to experience hot and humid weather with a possibility of thunderstorms and rain in some areas during the morning and evening hours.
Most districts of Punjab are expected to experience hot and humid weather. However, there is a chance of thunderstorms and rain accompanied by strong winds in some areas of Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Mianwali, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kasur, and Bahawalnagar.
Most of the plains districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience hot and humid weather. However, there is a forecast of thunderstorms and rain accompanied by strong winds in some areas of Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Batagram, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Mardan, Peshawar, Kurram, Bannu, Kohat, Karak, and Waziristan.
Most districts of Balochistan are expected to experience hot and humid weather. However, there is a chance of thunderstorms and rain accompanied by strong winds in some areas of Zhob, Sherani, Musa Khel, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Panjgur, and Kech during the evening or night.
Most districts of Sindh are expected to experience hot and humid weather. However, there is a chance of thunderstorms and rain accompanied by strong winds in some areas of Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, Badin, Thatta, Karachi, and Sajawal.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to have partly cloudy skies with a chance of thunderstorms and rain in some areas. Meanwhile, monsoon rains are forecast from today until July 20 in Punjab and Balochistan.
