Shehbaz, Zardari condemn attack on Trump

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the attack on former US President Donald Trump during an election rally.

In a post on X, Shehbaz said the shooting was a ‘shocking development’.

“Just learnt that former President Trump was shot at an election rally. This is a shocking development,” he wrote.

“I condemn all violence in politics. Wish the former President swift recovery and good health,” he added.

President Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the incident and expressed grief over the loss of life.

He also expressed his best wishes for Trump’s recovery.

Former President Donald Trump was on stage addressing supporters at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when he was attacked. He was unharmed in the attack, but the attacker was shot and killed. One person also died in the incident.

Secret Service agents immediately took Trump into custody and left the scene. The rally was immediately canceled after the incident.
