Marwat gives explanation over interview criticising party leaders

Sher Afzal Marwat, a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has responded to criticism surrounding a recent interview in which he expressed his dissatisfaction with certain party decisions.

In the interview, given to YouTuber Abrar Qureshi in London, Marwat stated that he and other PTI members often engage in “reasoning” with Imran Khan during meetings.

He also claimed that Khan had “wronged” him and “disrespected” him, adding that Khan is the only person who knows his contributions to the party.

Marwat expressed his disappointment over Khan’s decisions, stating that he was “hurt and saddened” by them. He attributed these decisions to the influence of others, despite having no personal conflict with them.

He also criticized Khan’s decisions for causing significant damage to the party.

Marwat emphasized that his efforts to mobilize people are not for personal gain, but for the strength of the PTI and Imran Khan. He believes that Khan will eventually realize the need to take action, particularly regarding the upcoming August rallies.

Marwat has since taken to X (formerly Twitter) to refute claims that his interview was misrepresented.

He clarified that he only complained about the treatment he received and never compared himself to Khan. He asserted that leaders have the right to express grievances, and this should be acknowledged.

Responding to Marwat’s comments, PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan criticized him on a private television program, stating that he had never seen someone decline so rapidly.

Marwat countered by accusing Khan of criticizing him without watching the full interview. He urged Khan to refrain from appearing wise without fully understanding the facts.
