At least nine terrorists, including a commander, were killed by security forces in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that seven terrorists including “HVT, terrorist commander Najeeb alias Abdulur Rehman and terrorist commander Ishfaq, also known as Muavia, were killed in an intelligence based operation in the general area Khyber district’s Tira.
“The killed terrorists were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area and were wanted by law enforcement agencies,” it said and added that weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the site.
In another operation, security forces killed two more terrorists in KP’s Lakki Marwat district.
Sanitisation operations were conducted to eliminate any terrorists found in the area, the statement added. “The Security Forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”
