A late-night attack on a joint security checkpoint in Khyber District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, by suspected terrorists using rocket launchers and heavy weapons, resulted in the deaths of one police officer and one Frontier Corps (FC) soldier.
The attack occurred at the Takhta Baig checkpoint, but was successfully repelled by security forces.

Khyber District Police Officer (DPO) Salim Abbas Klachi confirmed the incident, stating that police personnel displayed bravery and resilience in confronting the attackers, forcing them to retreat under the cover of darkness.
DPO Klachi further explained that police responded with heavy weapons fire, forcing the terrorists to flee. The intense exchange of fire lasted for approximately 10 minutes.
Following the attack, a large contingent of police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation.
