The federal education ministry has abolished the requirement of ‘Form B’ for admissions in federal public schools.
It process was a “major contributing factor” to the increasing number of out-of-school children, according to the notification issued by the ministry.
While considering the underlying reasons, the ministry has decided to eliminate the mandatory requirement of the previously prevalent Form B for admissions.
The notification further stated that all children residing in Islamabad, irrespective of their documentation status, would now be eligible for admission to government schools.
In another notification, the ministry announced that every primary school student under the Federal Directorate of Education would receive a tracksuit in the coming session.
It aims to encourage students to engage in sports activities, promoting healthy bodies and minds, the ministry said. “We want our young students to feel like sportspersons, developing a love for physical activity that will last a lifetime”.
