Matric exams in Karachi have been postponed in Sindh after the federal government announced a public holiday on May 28.
According to the Provincial Minister of Boards and Universities Muhammad Ali Malkani, matric exams will not be held in Karachi tomorrow due to the public holiday, the new date of the paper postponed tomorrow will be announced later.
The Private Schools Association had called for the exams to be held as per schedule.
The public holiday has been announced in commemoration of Youm-e-Takbeer.
However, despite hours having passed since the notification was issued, the Matric Board has not made any announcement. The chairman of he board said that the decision will be made ‘soon’.

It should be noted that the matriculation papers were postponed from May 21 to 27 due to extreme heat and heat stroke.
Meanwhile, Karachi University has cancelled all examinations scheduled for Tuesday. The date of the rescheduled exams will be announced soon.
