Five soldiers martyred in Khyber gun battle: ISPR

Five Pakistani army soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists during an operation in the general area of Bagh, Khyber district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, the military’s media wing said.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that Naik Muhammad Ashfaq Butt, 32, a Kahuta resident, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar, 30, a Poonch resident, Sepoy Taimoor Malik, 32, a Layyah resident, Sepoy Nadir Sageer, 22, a Bagh resident, and Sepoy Muahmmad Yasin, 23, Khushab resident, were the martyred army men.

Seven terrorists were killed while two others were wounded in the operation, the ISPR said and added that sanitisation operations were being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

“Security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.”

On Sunday, an army captain and a soldier were martyred during an exchange of fire with terrorists during an intelligence based operation in the general area Hassan Khel of Peshawar district. At least five terrorists were killed while three terrorists got injured.

In another operation in KP’s Tank district, 10 terrorists were killed.

At least twenty three terrorists were in above mentioned three operations.

“A large quantity of Weapons, ammunition & explosives was also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as the innocent civilians.”
