A massive wildfire has erupted in the Margalla Hills of Islamabad, with strong winds intensifying the fire further.
At late night, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) team had managed to control around 70% of the fire.
The Environment Department employed around 150 individuals for this wildfire incident.
Coordinator to Prime Minister on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid stated in a late-night media interaction that efforts are underway to bring the Margalla Hills fire under control, with the Ministry of Climate Change and CDA staff engaged in the firefighting efforts.
“The intensity of the fire has increased due to the heatwave and high wind speed. Precautionary measures are being taken to avoid any loss of life,” she said.
