A 16-year-old domestic worker was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a bungalow in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 6 on Sunday.
The girl, identified as Farya, was found hanging in the bungalow located on Khayaban-e- Bukhari.
Police suspect foul play and are investigating the incident from all angles. The body has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
According to DIG South Asad Raza, initial investigations suggest that the girl may have committed suicide. However, the police are not ruling out other possibilities.

The bungalow owner, a doctor, claims that the girl committed suicide. He told the police that Farya had been working in the bungalow for about a year.
Police officials say the incident is still not clear and further investigation is underway. The cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report and further investigation.
Police also claim that the doctor and his family were not present at the time of the incident. They had gone out with their family.
