Dubai airports resume operations after unsettled weather

Flight operations at Dubai International Airport have returned to normal after the disruptions caused by unstable weather, an airport spokesperson has said. 

The UAE was affected by adverse weather conditions on May 2 that also caused delays and diversions for flights going to and returning from Dubai. 

The spokesperson added that around 13 flights were cancelled on Thursday morning.and five inbound flights were diverted.

The unstable weather also affected UAE carriers, including Emirates, Etihad Airways, FlyDubai, and Air Arabia. 

Emirates has decided to cancel flights to various destinations, such as Istanbul, Nairobi, Cairo, Amman, Singapore, and Johannesburg.

Emirates affiliated carrier, flydubai experienced delays and cancellations for departures from Dubai International Airport, affecting flights to Pakistan, Bahrain, Iran, and India.

Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, has also faced operational delays.

Air Arabia, headquartered in Sharjah, has advised passengers to allocate additional time for travel to its hubs in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah.
