SC orders encorachments to be removed from Governor House and Rangers HQ

During the hearing on the petition of the victims of the KCR project in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa expressed anger at the encroachments made by the government and security institutions and ordered all encroachments to be remvoed.

During the hearing, the Chief Justice said that there should be more punishment where the government commits encroachment.

While talking to the Advocate General, the CJP rearked that, Governor House, Chief Minister House and the Rangers HQ have all occupied the footpaths.

The Additional Attorney General replied that there are security issues, there have been bomb attacks.

In response, the Chief Justice said, go somewhere else, vacate this place, go to a safe place.

The Chief Justice said that why authorities should remain safe while the public was being attacked.

The Chief Justice said that before he assumed office, the road was closed outside the Supreme Court. ‘Does this happen anywhere in the world?’ he asked.

Expressing anger, the Chief Justice said that if the Rangers feel too scared, they should go and sit in a remote area, instead of blocking the roads in the name of security.

The Chief Justice said that the roads are broken in places where the mayor had also come. He also asked for details about which law has allowed Jinnah Court been given to the Rangers?

The court ordered the Sindh Government to resolve the matter of people affected by the KCR project.
