Twist in Karachi Seaview ‘suicide’ as man found alive

A man who was reported to have drowned at Karachi’s Sea View Beach in a ‘suicideattempt’ has been found alive — a day after divers searched the coastline for his body for the entire day.

The individual, identified as Tahir Mahmood, was previously thought to have taken his own life, but it turned out he was trying to run out of a bad marriage.

Minutes before the ‘suicide’ he made a video call to his in-laws and told them he was ending his life. There were reports that Tahir worked as an online taxi driver and had found it difficult to make ends meet.

Mehmood was found in a state of partial unconsciousness on Tuesday.

Tahir’s in-laws had informed authorities on Tuesday that he had made the final phone call and thrown himself into the sea.
