Three terrorists killed in Pishin gun battle: ISPR

At least three terrorists have been killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Balochistan’s Pishin district, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations said that the security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in the district on “reported presence of terrorists on night 22/23 April 24.”

One terrorist was apprehended in injured condition, who has been identified as an Afghan national, it added. A huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered during the operation.

“Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the Nation, remain determined to thwart attempts of sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” it said.

In the recent past, Pakistan has seen an uptick in the terrorist incidents.

A statement from the Corps Commanders Conference earlier this month stated that how terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan pose a threat to regional and global security, besides acting as proxies against Pakistan and its economic interests, especially the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The forum condemned terrorist attacks against Chinese nationals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bisham last month as well as killings of civilians in Balochistan last week.
