The first season of “Wednesday” received critical acclaim and earned 12 Emmy nominations, with lead actress Jenna Ortega receiving a nomination in the Leading Actress in a Comedy Series category. The show went on to win four Emmy awards.
Although details about the plot of Season 2 are scarce, creators Al Gough and Miles Millar have hinted at the possibility of introducing more Addams family members. During a recent Tudum appearance, the cast confirmed this development, although they did not disclose specific details. Additionally, plans for an expanded Addams Family universe are in the works, with a spinoff series centered around Uncle Fester already in development.
The production of Season 2 faced delays due to the Hollywood strikes in 2023. However, it has now been confirmed that filming will commence in late April 2024 in Ireland, marking a change from the first season, which was shot in Romania.
