Veteran actor Syed Jamal Shah has lamented that he missed the Eid celebrations when he was young, saying the festival was a moment to have an exchange of people and dialogue.
In an interview with Shaukat Piracha of Aaj News, he said that there was a festival in Quetta during Eid in his childhood.
“The most favourite game was egg fighting. It has a relation to Easter eggs. Colourful eggs were there. Dance. Our craftsman’s work was displayed. It was an event for exchange. A big level of cultural exchange,” he said.
The actor added that the Eid festival was two days where prominent musicians and singers used to come from Afghanistan and showcase their talent. He lamented that it was not the case now and blamed the terrorism brought under the so-called jihad war.
“The soul of Pakistan,” he said while describing that moment and added that his children had not had that luxury.
