One of Islamabad’s biggest robberies took place in Bani Gala on Sunday, with almost Rs30 million of items being looted.
Unknown criminals took away diamonds, gold, dollars and watches worth a total of Rs30 million from a house.
An FIR for the incident has been filed by a a citizen named Abdullah Hassan.
Hassan told the police that he was in F-11, almost on the other side of the city, when his cook called to say that thieves had broken into the house.
The men then proceeded to blindfold the cook and proceeded to find valuables in the house.
In all, Rs10 million worth of diamonds, 35 tolas of gold and 10 watches worth Rs7.5 million were also stolen.
The thieves also made off with Rs300,000, $15,000 and expensive perfumes.
Police has began an investigation but has not made any arrests so far.
Bani Gala is a residential area in Islamabad at the edge of Rawal Lake. The area is home to many high-value properties including the residence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
