All prisoners, including Imran Khan, are safe, says Punjab info minister Azma Bukhari

All prisoners, including PTI founder Imran Khan, are safe, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said on Tuesday after her counterpart in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cast doubts on the provincial government’s ability to ensure safety of the former prime minister.

“The PTI founder [Imran Khan] is getting the best services in jail,” she said in a statement from Lahore. “Barrister Saif should care of people in KP.”

Her reaction came after the KP information minister demanded the Punjab government to hand over the custody of the former prime minister to them if it cannot ensure his security.

Saif Ali Khan added that the provincial government has increased the difficulties of all prisoners by imposing restrictions on them.

“[Punjab CM] Maryam Nawaz is busy in photo shoots instead of doing work,” he said and claimed that the incumbent Punjab government was incompetent.

But Azma defended her chief minister’s performance, saying that her rivals were also praising her for her performance. “[Khyber Pakhtunkhwa] Gandpur is habitual of having photo shoots,” she said and accused the KP government of looting the people.
