PTI condemns Maryam’s ‘selection’ as CM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Barrister Gohar condemned the ‘selection’ of Maryam Nawaz as chief minister of Punjab on Monday.

Gohar said that Maryam’s ascent into government of the province will be remembered as a ‘stain’ on democracy.

He also added that people who had actually lost the election on February 8 have been put in charge of governing Punjab.

Gohar also said that Maryam’s ‘selection’ as chief minister would prove to be a setback for stability in the province.

He added that Maryam’s chief ministership would add to the fear already bubbling inside the people of Punjab.

Earlier in the day, Maryam Nawaz was elected as the province’s chief minister with a thumping majority after the opposition boycotted the election.

In her first speech, she added that she would try to serve as chief minister for the entire province, not just her party’s support base.
