Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar accepted the resignation of Pakistan Telecom Authority Muhammad Jahanzeb Rahim on Monday.
A notification from the Establishment division said that Rahim’s resignation was accepted on Monday but would go into effect on February 29.
Rahim was serving as director general for telecom wireless in the PTA, essentially in charge of mobile services and mobile internet initiatives in the country.
He is also the focal person on telecom for the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
He is now set to take up the post of member telecom in the Ministry of Information and Technology.
