Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has claimed that its candidate for Chief Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has been arrested.
The claim was made by party leader Amir Dogar on Friday, hours after members of the Punjab Assembly took oath.
Dogar added that Iqbal would take oath after he was ‘recovered’.
However, Dogar also said that there was no contact with Iqbal and his whereabout were unknown.
Iqbal had secured bail from Peshawar High Court to protect himself from arrest.
In Friday’s maiden session, 85 members of the PTi who have joined the Sunni Ittehad Council were sworn in.
The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has fielded Maryam Nawaz as its candidate for chief minister.
