Islamabad High Court ordered the immediate arrest of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon on Tuesday in a case regarding issuance of arrest orders under MPO.
Justice Babar Sattar presided over a contempt case in the IHC on Monday where Islamabad’s SSP Operations and DC had been summoned in person.
Although SSP Malik Jameel Zafar appeared in person, Memon filed an exemption request through his counsel, Rizwan Abbasi.
The counsel argued that the DC was currently on leave in Khairpur and intends to leave for Umra soon.
However, Justice Sattar denied the exemption request and ordered all provincial IGs to immediately arrest Memon and produce him in court.
Memon is facing contempt proceedings for ordering the arrest of Shaheryar Afridi under MPO, against orders issued by the IHC.
