The United Kingdom announced stringent measures for migrants planning to travel to the country for work purposes. The new announcements are set to be effective in the second quarter of 2024, VisaGuide reported.
The changes in the rules include a hike in the minimum salary for occupations under the Skilled Worker Route while the UK authorities will also eliminate the ability for health and social care to bring dependents to the country.
Additionally, the authorities have increased financial requirements for family visa applications.
The changes are designed to reduce the number of people coming to Britain by 300,000 a year.
The hike in the minimum general salary for occupations under the Skilled Worker Route is set to take effect on April 4, according to a report from Fragomen.
The elimination of the ability for these foreign workers to bring dependents to the UK is likely to become effective on March 11.
A report stated that applicants should expect delays in the visa processing that will continue despite all government fee or financial requirement changes have taken place as there will be a pre-existing backlog of applications to be still resolved.
