Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that the party will sit on the opposition benches in the Punjab Assembly.
He revealed the party decision during a media talk after meeting Aftab Sherpao’s residence in Islamabad on Friday.
The announcement came a day after PTI leader Gohar Ali Khan said that the PTI founder has approved the name of Mian Aslam Iqbal as the party’s candidate for the chief minister of Punjab slot.
The PTI delegation also included Shaukat Yousafzai and Asad Qaiser while Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) leaders Ahmad Nawaz Jadoon, Hashim Babar, and Sikandar Hayat Khan were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, PTI sought the cooperation of QWP against the alleged rigging in the recently held election.
It is pertinent to mention that PTI and Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) had announced that they reached an agreement that February 8’s elections were rigged and could only lead to instability.
The parties revealed their agreement after a delegation from the PTI called on Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman a day earlier to discuss the post-election scenario in the country.
