Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has claimed that PTI will form governments in the center, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab as it has secured a majority in all three assemblies.
“The self-declared prime minister [Nawaz Sharif] announced that he will form government in the centre, which is not a good statement for democracy as they do not have a majority,” he said while addressing the media in Islamabad on Saturday.
Khan claimed that President Arif Alvi would soon invite his party to form the government as they had gotten a majority in the National Assembly.
“PTI will also form a government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. We will decide on the name of the chief minister within two days of consultation. We will also form a government in Punjab. We have almost secured a majority in the provincial assembly,” he added.
According to Khan, they were not against anyone and wanted to move forward. “We will proceed and form a government in accordance with the constitution and the law.”
“No obstacle should be created for the PTI and results should be announced as soon as possible,” he said while urging the final results should be announced before 12:00am tonight.
Khan called party workers to protest tomorrow outside the offices of Returning Officers who have not issued the results.
“I request all of our candidates, workers, and supporters to peacefully protest while holding Pakistan flags,” he added.
