The body of a man was recovered from a stormwater drain in Karachi’s Baldia Town on Sunday, a day after heavy rain lashed the metropolis leading to flooded roads and power shutdown.
The deceased, identified as Syed Fakhar Alam, was the father of five daughters and worked at the factory to earn bread for his family.
According to the family, Alam left for home from work Saturday night when he fell into the drain.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was moved to the morgue for further examination.
Earlier today, heavy rain was reported in parts of Karachi as the Met Office forecasted that intermittent rain was expected in the city.
Multiple roads were flooded while commuters were stuck in traffic for hours on major arteries after rain lashed Pakistan’s economic hub last night.
