Indian actor-cum-singer Ayushmann Khurrana faced backlash from many fans at home for singing the famous Pakistani song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’, making many fans wonder why he sang the nation’s unofficial anthem at a time when the two nuclear-armed neighbours have frosty ties.
The eighteen-second video circulating on X shows Aysuhmann, along with his brother Aparshakti Khurana, singing the former Pakistani band Vital Signs song. When they started singing, the backdrop also changed to the Pakistan flag and green and white lights.
Indian media channels and TV channels gave a prominent place to the video in their news feed.
The video surfaced days after Ayushmann, along with other Bollywood celebrities, was seen attending the opening of the Ram temple on the razed Babri mosque site.
Some people on social media claimed that the Vicky Donor actor can do anything for money as he has hurt their feelings.
But the reality is different. The video is not a recent one, but from a Dubai concert where he performed in 2017. It was verified after checking the video on different platforms.

“Ayushman Khurana giving tribute to all Asian countries through his Punjabi singing in Dubai,” is the title of a five-minute video on YouTube. The viral clip is taken from this video.
At the start of the video, he is seen performing a Punjabi song.
“This one is for our Pakistani friends,” Ayushman said before starting the song sung by late Junaid Jamshed. He also sang the Chak De India song from an Indian movie.
