The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday claimed that Mehr Muhammad Waseem, a PTI ticket holder, withdrew from the election in favour of Maryam Nawaz in Lahore’s NA-119 constituency.

However, the PTI website shows that its candidate in the constituency is Shahzad Farooq, the brother of Mian Ibad Farooq who is one of the accused in the May 9 riots case.

According to the PML-N, Waseem was contesting against Maryam in the election 2024, however, he decided to withdraw in favour of the PML-N leader and to support her in the upcoming general polls.

The party claimed that alleged PTI ticket holder along with thousands of workers and supporters joined the PML-N.
