PPP’s Bilawal seeks absolute majority in general elections

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has urged people to vote for his party, as the scion of the Bhutto dynasty seeks big majority in Parliament.

“People should not waste their vote and vote for arrow,” he said while addressing party supporters in Naushahro Feroze on Thursday. “There is a competition between arrow [electoral symbol of PPP] and tiger [electoral symbol of PML-N].”

The general elections in Pakistan are scheduled for February 8, with tough competition expected between parties led by Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif. Chances for the party led by former prime minister Imran Khan are dim after the Supreme Court stripped it of its iconic electoral symbol bat.

Bilawal trip to Sindh where his party has a stronghold is part of his election campaign. The party led by the Bhutto dynasty seeks to return to power after ruling the country in 2013.

He called on the people to vote for the PPP to end unemployment in the country.

“The people of Naushahro Feroze have always supported the PPP,” he said, vowing to make governments in the province and federation.
