The eggs are the important food of winter breakfast and now has become out of the range of common people in Peshawar after a great hike.
According to Aaj News, after the cold wave, the egg prices hiked up to Rs100, and the eggs are being sold at Rs480 per dozen in KP’s Peshawar instead of the previous Rs320.
A resident said that it is a basic breakfast that provides lots of benefits in winter, especially for children, but the rising price of eggs makes it beyond the pocket.
A whole seller linked the hike with inflated feeds of chickens and transportation of eggs, as he brings eggs from Punjab. Talking about the other reason he said the gap of demand and supply is also imposing impacts on the supply chain.
Residents of Peshawar demand the administration to take notice of the hike.
