A female university student who was reported murdered two months ago has been found alive and living in her native village in a police inquiry.
An FIR for the murder of Tehmina was lodged at a police station in Islamabad on September 1.
However, the police inquiry found that she was living in her native village near Toba Tek Singh and attending the Toba Tek Singh Agricultural University, police officials said on Tuesday.
The case of female university student was allegedly based on lies and a grudge against suspects, it said and added that neither the girl was abducted nor she was present in the federal capital on the mentioned date.
It merits here to mention that the inspector general of police started inquiry into the incident on the complaint of mother of suspects named in the case.
The report urged that the case should be dismissed by the court and action should be taken against the people responsible for the “bogus FIR”.
The report claimed that the cases were allegedly framed on the influence of Capital Development Authority officer Iftikhar Hyderi. SSP Investigation Rukhsar Mehndi sent the inquiry report to the IGP.
