The District Education Authority in Lahore has directed heads of schools to bar students’ entry to schools who ride motorcycles without having a licence.
“Those students who have no driving license should not come to Schools on their Motorcycles as it is very dangerous for students and General Public on roads,” the authority said in a notification.
It went on to add that the School Education Department will not be responsible for any mishap caused by riders who do not have a licence.
It is pertinent to mention that the Lahore High Court on November 17 ordered authorities to immediately arrest anyone driving cars or motorcycles without a licence.
The orders came in a case regarding the alleged death of six people at the hands of an underaged driver.
Justice Ali Zia Bajwa had summoned Lahore’s senior superintendent operations and chief traffic officer on Friday. The court told the officers that they would be given time to file their reports.

The Lahore traffic police on November 11 said that an underage driver allegedly killed six members of a family in a road accident in Lahore.
The victims of the accident belonged to the same family.
Later, it was revealed that Afnan, the underaged driver, had a fight earlier with the people sitting in the car while the accident happened.
